Happy Earth Day

Hello Friends & bloggers and Welcome to my New Friends.
Well it just so happens to be Earth Day today. And how appropriate for stitching parts of the Earth for Fairy Hill by Bothy Threads Cut Thru Monday SAL. Too perfect. Now granted I'm posting this technically late Monday night or Early Tuesday morning.  It's been very warm here in Northern California since last week. Today was 85 degrees, sunny and no winds till much later this evening.
I have to tell you that last night on QVC I stitched while watching Kirks Folly show. Yes I am a fan of Fairy Godmother Jennifer and her siblings. Love their jewelry. That was really fun stitching on Fairy Hill and listening to the enchanting music and seeing all the pretties of Kirks Folly.

My progress from last Monday. Another Tinkerbell to share with you. My mom collected Tinkerbell.
I will share a different one with you for each update on Fairy Hill.

Question for you?
The chart calls for #793 DMC for the background wall, which will go next to the white strip. Now in person the thread looks the same color as the fabric I'm stitching on. But here in the photo it looks darker. Now I am in a dilemma!
I was going to try a different color. But first I think I will go ahead and stitch a few stitches of #793. But if it looks the same color as the fabric (I really think it will), what color do you think I should try? Maybe a darker blue? Or go with a pretty teal? I really would like to hear your opinions or thoughts please.
I have been stitching on other projects too this last week. But that's it for now. (probably after posting I will have recalled what else I wanted to share with you - oh well)
With Love and my Appreciation - Annette

Morning Annette from a very sunny but cool UK. This is looking wonderful, you have done great this week with your progress. I love this chart, well I love all the Cut Thrus actually, so much to see in them.

Have a great week!

Very nice Annette. I usually go one or two shades darker of the same color.
How neat to share your mother's collection with us. =)

So funky and fun! I think a brighter, lighter blue if it is representing water. Looking good.

What a pretty design. I'd go with a darker colour if 793 is too similar to the fabric. I'm going to enjoy seeing your mum's Tinkerbells :-)

Oh it's looking great! I agree with Gio -- I would go with a darker shade of the 793. I think it would look just right.

Very cute start, Annette! I would probably do one stripe of the suggested color and see what you think. It may end up being darker after stitched... I'm sure you'll enjoy stitching this one!

Looks great Annette! I would try a darker shade if the 793 does not look good after being stitched. Good luck, looking forward to seeing your progress.

Good progress, Annette! I'd go with a darker, deeper blue. Your mom's collection is really fun. Have a great day!!!

You are making good progress! I love the red and white polka dot mushrooms.

I would try one of the 930, 931, or 932 range since they are my favorite blues in DMC :)

hello, i would take a charky lighter blue, like you have on the seasite, just as if it had faded by the sun.
greetings

It looks really pretty. Your could always try not stitching the parts that a the same colour as the background.

Great progress Annette. This is such a fun SAL. I would go with the color it calls for. There is white on either side so it shouldn't make a difference.

How fun to see a new Tinkerbell for every update! I would use the same blue since there isn't a whole lot of it, and there will be backstitching around it anyway. I added your photo to the SAL page.

I think I vote a darker blue shade. Will be cute whatever you decide.

Lovely start and nice to see a pic of what it will look like.

I am going to visit Tinkerbell soon. I'll tell her hello for you ;-)

As to your question, I agree with another to try a line of stitches and see how it turns out with the color.

Have FUN!

Cute design, sounds like you have lots of good advice for your dilemma. I'm sure you will come up with a great substitution and no one will know your issue once the pattern is completed.

Hello Annette!! I love your Bothy Cut Thru choice!! This one will be a fun one to watch you stitch!! Hmm, I think the lightness of the blue in the design makes everything pop so perhaps go for a lighter blue? Try out a couple of choices to see which one you like best.

Hugs!!

I love your progress on Fairy Hill, the dark blue fabbie is lovely. Teal would look nice or maybe a paler blue?

Hi, hope you get your air conditoning unit fixed. Can't wait to see your progress in time. It's hard to imagine you being reallly hot, it's still pretty cold in the UK
