It's Sunny here in California

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. I've been surviving a cold/flu like many of you have had. But I think I am on the mend finally. Boy I've missed you all. I need to get caught up on reading the blogs. I feel out of the loop (a saying that me and Nannie always say -lol). With this bug I could only sleep lots and still am getting my voice back. But before I became ill I did get some stitching done. And I have a new iron - WOOHOO!!! My last iron actually fell apart. Yes the bottom iron piece was popping of the bottom and the dial too popped out. Ha! I sure tried to do my best to keep it alive for as long as I could. But since I bought my new iron I can't believe why I fought for so long to keep the old one. My new iron is from Wallmart and its by T-fal called the Ultraglide easycord 4476 1700w. Let me tell you it's FANTASTIC. Look at my photos and you can tell the linens are ironed and smooth as can be. What a difference. The steam feature is nothing like I have ever had on a iron before. Amazing how they have improved. Also I did not pay a bundle for it either it was under $40. I am in love with my iron now:)
Here are some updates on Ann Dale:

The middle of the borders on the sides have been extended and the floral band is all done.

Who knew having a proper iron makes a huge difference. My last iron was 15 yrs old - lol.

Ann Dale - 40ct Vintage Pear Linen by Lakeside Linens & all silk threads

Fairy Hill  -  Bothy Threads Cut Thru
(Before)

(After)

I stitched another fairy, wish list, lots of green background, brown rocks or dirt separating to another room and a tree trunk. This is with Debbie and Linda's Monday SAL.
Currently I am working on a secret project as a gift for a special friend. It has lots of parts to it and I am in the process of  constructing it together. Also finished a Valentine piece but saving that for next month to share with you. The weather here has warmed up during the days but evenings are still chilly (but I love it).
I sure hope you are well or if you are not feeling well -  I send you well wishes.
With Love and Appreciation - Annette

Glad you're on the mend! I brought the crud home from work and shared with my hubby, so we both know how you've been feeling. Looks like it's allowed you some great stitching time, though; both pieces are coming along beautifully.

I'm so glad you're feeling better, Annette! You've accomplished a lot on all your pieces! I love Ann Dale - the colors the composition, everything! I did hear that there were a lot of errors on the chart. Have you found that to be a problem?

Well, I've never been in love with an iron but I've never killed on either!! I recently replaced my 30+ year old iron and like the new one but only ever iron linen as general ironing is just not my thing!! Your Ann is gorgeous! I have the 'part' of Ann that Teresa release first but it is also huge. You are brave to take on such an enormous project and I look forward to seeing your progress!! Laura

I'm glad to hear you are on the mend. Make sure you rest when you can. Sometimes I'd thought I had recovered then realized I was still feeling woozy!

I love the progress on your Ann Dale. Your new iron must be amazing as the linen looks perfectly smooth!

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. I know this year's illnesses are not wanting to leave too quickly. I pray you will feel better soon. Ann Dale is looking gorgeous! Thanks from the tip about the iron. We're stopping by Walmart after my dr appt tomorrow ... I'll check it out. Great to see your Christmas Countdown counter! I'm definitely counting the days : )

Both stitches are looking so pretty! Sorry you've been ill. Hope you're all better. As for an iron -- I'm wondering if I need a new one too. Sigh.

Good to read that you are on the mend. I was already missing your posts.
You made some considerable progress on both your projects. Border stitching can sometimes be a bit boring but a good feeling when a part of it is done. Also your Cut-Through piece looks great after the progress (and before as well, of course, lol)
I hope you will soon get completely rid of the flu.

Sorry to hear you've been sick, Annette--hopefully that will be it for this year :) I appreciate your mentioning how much you like your new iron, too, as I'm in the market for one myself.

Lovely progress on Ann Dale--I so love the colors in that piece! And I love looking at each and every detail in the Fairy Hill piece :)

Send some of your warmth east, please! We are so, so sick of sub-zero temperatures and snow!

So sorry to hear that you've been sick. I hope that by now you're back to normal.

Guess I've never heard of an iron falling apart. Hope you'll forgive me for chuckling. Mine just quit working.

Your stitching projects look wonderful!

Wish all of our bitter cold temps, I sure wish I were back out your way.

I am glad that you are getting better. It seems, by listening to the news in the Bay Area, the flu is hitting California (as well as the rest of the US) by storm. I love all of your stitching projects. They are beautiful!
Take care.
