Yes I am back and have some stitching projects to share with you. It's been over a year since my last post.<br />
Lord knows how I truly miss all of you.<br />
Major reason is that the day after I posted on May 30 2016 my Aunt Shirley passed away. It was so hard losing her. Oh the stories I could share of her. She was such an inspiration through my whole life. I will miss her and still love very much. The love does not go away. When I would talk about my stitching or show my magazines she would say I love all you do but Please NO!!! LOL!!! We would both laugh. She absolutely LOVED beautiful linens, china and stitched projects. She just didn't want to hear me talk about fabric count or threads - LOL!!!! Anyways Honestly that was a huge mental block for me (even tearing up right now) because she was my moms sister and the last female blood relation to my mom (I do have my sweet sister).<br />
Thank you Vickie for asking my about blogging again. YES its time. I'm on Instagram regularly. It's been fast easy and didn't have to admit my aunt was gone. But I have missed my blogging friends.<br />
<br />
So even though I may not have posted I sure have been stitching all this time.<br />

From 2016 JCS Christmas Ornament magazine (pg 30)- Gingerbread House by Shannon Wasilieff.<br />
I had bought candy gum drops strand from Hobby Lobby and added them on top of the lace of the roof.<br />
Added lots of beads, heart & gingerbread man buttons. To the left do you see the gorgeous embroidered "A" ? It's a beautiful mini book made for me by Lee (was a birthday gift last year) and I love it. <br />

Also from 2016 JCS Christmas Mag I stitched "Blessings" by Hand on Design. "Yuletide" also by Hands on Design chart was published in JCS mag but it was a regular issue not the Christmas one. I had the red white tree and star buttons in stash (gifted from my sister a few Christmas's back) and thought those were perfect to add. 28ct linen & 14ct black aida.<br />

"Merry Little Birthday" by Sam Sarah Designs Studio. Goodness I had bought this chart like 3 years ago always knowing I wanted to stitch it for Lee and last year - it got made & sent. Buttons from Michael's. 32ct purple peonies linen, silk threads, GA & DMC threads. I looved stitching this. The soft silks and the colors were so lovely to work with. And I think its a FUN piece!!!<br />

Wanted to pop in and tell you I'm still here and have been stitching. Since my last post I told you we had a scare with my husband but all was clear that was early April. We were told soon after that they had seen something and he needed another test. Finally he had that done and again - HE's Clear!!! BUT my Aunt took a turn in her health. She is now terminally ill - she's my late moms only sister. <br />
All the whole time I've poured my heart into my stitching. Stitching in hospital waiting rooms and home no matter where it helps me be calm.<br />
On a much happier note - I started a new project. I have fallen in LOVE with Lavender and Lace & Mirabilia designs. I had some in my stash from years ago and even my mom had started picking them up for me when she had seen them. Funny thing is I purchased one that I had seen <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ehKwR875dY">Carolyn Mazzeo </a>stitch on Floss Tube and she stitched a conversion of it and that's what I've been stitching.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KNeGh6-Hz1s/V0qyoeWmFYI/AAAAAAAAFAU/ru71HuTq2fYUseLCNIP64JAtCYg2mpftgCLcB/s1600/IMG_0327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KNeGh6-Hz1s/V0qyoeWmFYI/AAAAAAAAFAU/ru71HuTq2fYUseLCNIP64JAtCYg2mpftgCLcB/s400/IMG_0327.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"> "Celtic Autumn" by Lavender and Lace</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">28ct Lambswool Jobelan, DMC threads and Sulky Metallic thread instead of Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Thread. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you can see the photo of the chart its in tones of blues. The conversion I'm stitching is in tones of beautiful greens and ambers charted by<b><i> <a href="https://janetgranger.wordpress.com/category/embroidery/full-size-others-designs/lavender-and-lace-celtic-autumn/">Janet Granger</a></i></b>. And I added her holding fall leaves (which was charted by Jennifer Janney).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There's tons of beading. I beaded some of the top rows and one finished square motif. Holding off on the rest till I get her all stitched. </div>

This is a project or WIP that I'm also working on a summer needlebook themed Mermaid/Sealife<br />
The mermaids are charted by "Maidens of the Sea" - With My Needle by the lovely Ellen Chester.<br />
The Seahorse, seaweed & coral are charted in a book (I got from the library) - "Four Seasons in Cross Stitch by Janye Netley Mayhew & Nicki Wheeler.<br />
I will try to post again soon - so much to share. At least I was able to get this posted - LOL!!!<br />
Hope you all are stitching! <div style="text-align: left;">
This fabric is very special! This was gifted to me by the sweet <i><b><a href="http://withneedlethreadandbasket.blogspot.com/">Ali</a></b></i> of With Needle Thread and Basket blog.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The fabric had belonged to Ali's grandmother Jean. I actually won it in a giveaway Ali had. She had asked if we were to win what design would we stitch on it. It's a beautiful rich orange red color. I knew Midnight Ride would look amazing. I won! So I started this project after finishing Sojourner. When I started stitching I tried 2 over 2 and learned very quickly that the fabric count is probably 25ct. I frogged what I stitched and tried 2 over 1. Much better. Somewhere I did try 1 over 2 and 1 over 1 that didn't work.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So 2 over 1 is what I ended up stitching. I love it. I think I am going to make this an ornament and not on a box. But we'll see and will share when I am done. Oh I have plans for the rest of the fabric. Nothing is going to waste. More on that later. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Okay so now it was time to start on HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs) - "Gingerbread House"!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
oooooh Good Lord! First of all I had kitted up all the threads before. I am using a candy box to store them.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I had bought 28ct evenweave a huge cut. But I started looking at all the pages of the chart 108 of them and started having doubts. Why? Because I knew after seeing lots of you stitching on your HAED's that most of you were using 25ct Magic fabric. This Magic fabric has the grid printed right on it. Mine did not. When I bought my fabric I thought "Oh NO I don't need grids". Ahem...... looking at all those pages I decided YES I DID! I didn't want to waste tons of time trying to figure out where I left off and where I would be stitching this HUGE design. Okay what to do??? Last week I finally learned of Floss Tube. I've heard many of you mention on your blogs this Floss Tube but had no clue as to what it was. It's on YOU TUBE and there I typed in "Floss Tube" and hit enter. OMG!!! That's a whole new world or I should say another beautiful community of cross stitcher's and more.WOW! I actually found a video of how to stitch a grid on my fabric. YES I stitched my own grid. HUGE Thank You to Jennifer Apodaca! God Bless her - <b><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk6mWyo4z10">her video #19</a></b>! I stitched my outer border all around 780 x 570. As I stitched and got closer to the end I had done extremely well. Till I learned I was off 1 thread - URG!!! Stayed up waaay to late in the evening. Went to bed and woke up in the morning (Saturday) and found my error after 20 mins. sigh....... Then I needed to stitch the lines in the inside. Took all day Saturday and thru Sunday. And that was only several lines just to get started to place that first stitch. LOL!!! So here we are:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L25SdW1rO-Q/VwYUuoxtWTI/AAAAAAAAE_E/jddXzHBMvLUJF9IoMJhDDLmwzK3D31jog/s1600/IMG_0213.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-L25SdW1rO-Q/VwYUuoxtWTI/AAAAAAAAE_E/jddXzHBMvLUJF9IoMJhDDLmwzK3D31jog/s400/IMG_0213.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
LOVE LOVE LOVE all the colors!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2zyitofRiXA/VwYUzUnBmXI/AAAAAAAAE_I/Ds0q4TvsyBsaC1RxrHN6-Jo8vCwm75a2A/s1600/IMG_0212.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2zyitofRiXA/VwYUzUnBmXI/AAAAAAAAE_I/Ds0q4TvsyBsaC1RxrHN6-Jo8vCwm75a2A/s400/IMG_0212.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
I used Sulky Sliver Metallic thread (Joann's and had coupon). OH MY WORD! Have you tried this thread? It glides and its strong. No splitting at all. I may use this thread in other projects because its fantastic and beautiful. These photos don't capture the sparkle but it does.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UpOBxPm965o/VwYU2YSeppI/AAAAAAAAE_M/gVjWdcYTuisEN6r2jWqkAd4JOrDQECwYw/s1600/IMG_0210.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UpOBxPm965o/VwYU2YSeppI/AAAAAAAAE_M/gVjWdcYTuisEN6r2jWqkAd4JOrDQECwYw/s400/IMG_0210.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Close up I started in the upper right corner. 1 over 1 Full Cross Stitch </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I gridded mine as Jennifer said to do. The inside grids I am stitching each line as she did but my squares are in 20's not 10's. Safe to say I love this project. So sorry this post is long. But so much to share.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather and if you have snow - Hope you get to get cozy and stitch! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thank you for stopping by!</div>

I am so thrilled and excited to share with you my first large finished & framed sampler - "Sojourner" by Theresa Baird. I finished stitching this last week. The next day I framed this myself. I had a frame that I had bought from a Thrift store a few years back thinking that I would use this for another project (Christmas Garden by Blackbird Designs) but that project hasn't begun yet! So just by chance the frame was a great fit for Sojourner. I cut a foam board that fit the frame, glued a thin batting to it, positioned my sampler, used lots tiny pins to secure it to the sides of the foam board while carefully stretching it & keeping it centered. I am really happy how it turned out. Started in June 2015 - Finished March 2016. I made my goal to have this sampler done by April 5th. ALL DONE!!!<br />

Hello sweet friends! It's been too long since I've been able to post. Lots of catching up with you.<br />
The last few months have been a blessing & horrific. I'm just going to dive right in with my news.<br />
<br />
Back in January I had seen on Gay Ann Roger's website that she offered Ladies of Downton geometric motif charts. After hemming and hawing I finally went ahead and ordered them. Yep all 3 of the ladies. They are sooo gorgeous. Well I had made a card and sent it Gay Ann thanking her for her beautiful designs. To make a long story short - Gay Ann asked me to design cards for each lady with photos of her motifs. What an honor for me! I did make them!<br />
<br />
In the mist of making the cards our son Nicholas, one afternoon, started choking and was throwing up every 3 mins. He was able to breath and talk but kept telling me he felt something was stuck in his throat. He was having lunch at the time right before he started getting ill. Took him to ER arrived before 6:00pm and at 8:00pm the ER doctor said he was calling in the specialist and her team. At 10:00pm they operated on him.<br />
Nicholas had a piece of meat stuck in his esophagus. The doctor thinks that Nick ate something (the day before) that his esophagus constricted close. Okay got my son all well. Kept making cards at home in between (kept me calm).<br />
Week following we had a scare with my husband. My DH had a regular checkup and blood work. Got the call back saying he needed more tests. They thought he could have cancer. Took him to the hospital for a procedure. 2 days later we got the call - He's all clear. OH thank the Lord!!!!<br />
<br />
Then follow up appt for our son. He needed more tests and had a procedure done too. So far all tests have come back clear. We don't know why he had the reaction that he did. Still in the works.<br />
<br />
SO I am not sure when I have gotten all the stitching done that I did. I had my projects in totes that came with me to all appts and ER too!!! Stitching has been my saving grace.<br />
Having shared with you I am so sorry to be so behind on commenting and visiting everyone's blogs.<br />
Please forgive me. OH before I forget Gay Ann Roger<b> <a href="http://www.gayannrogers.com/eweek-in-february-sale.html">HERE</a></b> has her sale going on right now. She has extended the Ladies of Downton charts till March 6th. Then is retiring them as the series will end on that night here in USA.<br />

We had a fabulous Christmas. Hope your Christmas was wonderful.<br />
We stayed home for Christmas. Christmas Eve we had Mexican food (bought from restaurant). Christmas day we had Italian food. My son Nicholas cooked in the beginning of the week - Stuffed shells & Lasagna rolls that he froze. So the day of Christmas I just needed to take them out of the freezer to get room temp then bake them. Dinner was great. All I had to do was mostly chopping veggies - awesome! Super relaxing day with family. Now up till a few days after Christmas I hadn't gotten to stitch. Went about 2 weeks no stitching but had a great time preparing for Christmas. One major accomplishment is that this year I completed a mini scrapbook - Journal Your Christmas. And as of today All completed.<br />
Will share more of that on another post. I haven't taken photos of my book yet!<br />
<br />
On New Year's day I started a new project "Shores of HRH". I joined a group of a few ladies on Instagram for a sal. The goal is to stitch one block every 2 months. The hashtag is #hrhshoressal. I've had this kitted up since 2012. I plan also to continue stitching "Sojourner". These are my main 2 projects for this year. This way I have plenty of time to also fit in other small projects.<br />
<br />
<br />

Here I made floss tags for my silk threads. Made tags, attached the label of silk, punched holes and all went on a ring. I like to have the labels so in case I run out of a color I have the color & lot numbers to reorder.<br />

On Dec 16th I had came to realize that Christmas was the following week. Needless to say I had to really get a move on getting ready. I thought I had 2 weeks. Nope!!!<br />
So no needle has been in my hand since then. And I sure miss stitching. BUT - I do have some photos to share with you of our decorations. This year I put up all of my mothers collection of Nostalgic House and Village series of Hallmark that she collected. Most of the ornaments had not seen the daylight since she had bought them. I continued to collect them and stopped after 2013. The Harry Potter tree is still up. That makes 2 Christmas trees. I also displayed some of the Hallmark Sound, Motion and Magic ornaments.<br />
Oh good Lord what I went thru to get them to work. I had to find a older strand of lights to connect a few of them to in order for them to work. After testing and replacing about 4 strand of lights 2 days later I found a brand new set in a box that had never been opened and they worked.<br />
<br />
I am have been enjoying <b><i>every</i></b> moment getting ready for Christmas. And I have a special story to share with you. The evening after I had finished decorating the tree with all my moms houses - I was thinking of her wondering if she would like the tree. And I was taking out all of the sound/magic ornaments and came across one in particular. It was a cell phone that has a recorded message. WOW! I knew my mom had recorded our son when he was about 3 years old. After getting the batteries in for it ( oh that's a whole story of its self) I played it. I was stunned. It was my mothers voice and my sons. For me it was the greatest most special gift for this Christmas. I know it was my moms way of telling me she does like the tree and was sending us a message.<br />
Hope you have a Merry Christmas and many blessings to you for the New Year!<br />
Oh I will be back before the new year - LOL!!!!<br />

Here's a finish "Autumn" by Prairie Schooler. Thank you sweet <a href="http://stitchingdream.blogspot.com/">Carol</a> for sharing your chart with me! I had seen Carol's that she stitched and I went nuts! I had to stitch this.<br />

And I'm smiling:)Hello friends! Crazy that we're already near the middle of November. Looking back at October our Halloween was fun. This year we only had about 40 trick or treater's come to the door. Towards the end we handed out 3 pieces of candy to each in order not to be stuck with lots of candy - lol! Thank heavens our weather here is finally cold, in the 60's during the day and in the 30's at night. LOVE IT!<br />
<br />
Our friend<a href="http://www.talesofastitchingmouse.blogspot.com/"><b><i> Mouse</i></b></a> has received what I sent her so I can share with you.<br />

I was so lucky and honored to receive from <a href="http://withneedlethreadandbasket.blogspot.com/"><b><i>Alison </i></b></a>- beautiful orange colored linen that was her grandmothers. Alison had a giveaway on<a href="http://withneedlethreadandbasket.blogspot.com/"> her blog</a> and I got it! WOOHOO!!!!<br />
<br />
Alison also crocheted me a beautiful heart & rose sachet filled with lavender farmed from France. Smells heavenly. And a magnetic lavender bookmark - already in use:)<br />
Thank you so much Alison. My plans for this fabric is to stitch "Midnight Ride" by Blackbird Designs. Plus I have a few other projects in mind..... Thank you Alison!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1xnLqq9jvSI/VkPDmW_NlkI/AAAAAAAAEQc/x94DOJ0OVkY/s1600/m7193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1xnLqq9jvSI/VkPDmW_NlkI/AAAAAAAAEQc/x94DOJ0OVkY/s400/m7193.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tried to get a better photo up close of this pretty linen. It's gorgeous in person. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Very deep orange with red undertones. And it was Alison's Grandmother's!!!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E8wkkBglyHo/VkPDrwvQTgI/AAAAAAAAEQk/mVkbZ4rhg_I/s1600/m7181.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E8wkkBglyHo/VkPDrwvQTgI/AAAAAAAAEQk/mVkbZ4rhg_I/s400/m7181.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And lastly our carved Halloween pumpkin.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My husband and son carved it 1 week before Halloween. On the morning of Halloween we had to toss the pumpkin out. Yep there's a very good reason why the pumpkins are NOT to be carved more than a few days ahead of time!!! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dYdN_QwJ6ec/ViBHnLy21DI/AAAAAAAAECw/PzmtuICQlS4/s1600/m7158.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dYdN_QwJ6ec/ViBHnLy21DI/AAAAAAAAECw/PzmtuICQlS4/s400/m7158.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My friend Jill from Washington surprised me. Festive Birthday flowers with blow horns, and streamers greeted & surprised me. The vase even had painted birthday candles. So pretty, Thank you Jill!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1EsMFUwLKsc/ViBHu7kv5oI/AAAAAAAAEC4/e4m-iWS5XxI/s1600/m7156.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1EsMFUwLKsc/ViBHu7kv5oI/AAAAAAAAEC4/e4m-iWS5XxI/s400/m7156.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then the morning of my birthday I waited to open my gift from Lee. <b><i><a href="http://notesfromunderthemountain.blogspot.com/">Lee </a></i></b>made me a gorgeous hand beaded mauve/pink silk dupoini covered box. Oh its so beautiful in person. I tried to get a good photo. The inside is lined with a pretty navy tiny floral print fabric. Love it so much - Thank you Lee!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7FSB-hmsVxc/ViBHyJQ5ewI/AAAAAAAAEDA/ug64NQV3KRo/s1600/m7154.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7FSB-hmsVxc/ViBHyJQ5ewI/AAAAAAAAEDA/ug64NQV3KRo/s640/m7154.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

I love looking at all the different beads, metal flowers, hand stitched bullion roses, heart buttons, silk ribbon roses topped with tiny beads, cloisonne flower, beaded crystal balls, leaves, tiny sequins stitched on top of metal flowers, and a beautiful bee charm. I can't imagine how long it took Lee to stitch all the embellishments on the box. A work of love for sure! This is spectacular and I cherish it!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you Thank you Thank you - Lee!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With my birthday money I ordered a new chart. I know it was early but Haven and Earth Designs had a sale on their website. I got "Gingerbread House" by Aimee Stewart. I ordered the large print, hard copy, 89 colors (not the one with 236 colors) chart. Now this is my very first HAED. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have gathered all the threads for page 1 of 120.......YEP! Crazy me!!!! </div>

It's crazy that's its the end of September. It gets darker earlier and so far we are still having HOT weather. Hope it changes soon. But I knew to get a jump on and decorate - our Halloween/Fall tree is up. First I am sharing with you my progress on Sojourner sampler.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S3CqU1C3Pj0/VgjgGtrrheI/AAAAAAAAD8I/ZLS89LOuNRU/s1600/m7135.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-S3CqU1C3Pj0/VgjgGtrrheI/AAAAAAAAD8I/ZLS89LOuNRU/s400/m7135.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-luxvdy_Qw-w/VgjgLDr5V8I/AAAAAAAAD8Q/5OkNsjCOL8k/s1600/m7126.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-luxvdy_Qw-w/VgjgLDr5V8I/AAAAAAAAD8Q/5OkNsjCOL8k/s400/m7126.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
This top I'm sharing with you for a reason. Back in the late 1970's my parents took our family to Mexico. My mom bought me this blouse. I loved it for all the embroidered flowers stitched in different colors. This was my inspiration for my next band on Sojourner.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v09hvjuLUcg/VgjgN_L-XfI/AAAAAAAAD8Y/CORWNqHd5uk/s1600/m7125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v09hvjuLUcg/VgjgN_L-XfI/AAAAAAAAD8Y/CORWNqHd5uk/s400/m7125.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I finished the last band. This is a traditional Mexican band with Satin stitches & Rhodes stitch details.<br />
It was charted in green and white. But for me I wanted more color. Took me forever to think.... and then it hit me. I remembered the beautiful top mom had bought me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AfIydgqgjNc/VgjgSsdVQ8I/AAAAAAAAD8g/2zBZIIMlkgQ/s1600/m7127.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AfIydgqgjNc/VgjgSsdVQ8I/AAAAAAAAD8g/2zBZIIMlkgQ/s400/m7127.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I'm so happy how it turned out. Both my parents are gone. This is a special meaning to me so when I look at this I instantly think of the fun vacation with my family from waaaaay back when.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k0sJEVtxVJ0/VgjgxjcuNgI/AAAAAAAAD8o/_8US-S-McMQ/s1600/m7124.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k0sJEVtxVJ0/VgjgxjcuNgI/AAAAAAAAD8o/_8US-S-McMQ/s640/m7124.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
There is still lots of this sampler to be stitched. Like the strawberries (Queen stitches) and more satin stitches that will fill in the saw tooth border all around the bands. Now I'm stitching the left side of the floral's.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PQ3FKwNzr2A/Vgjg33_XUtI/AAAAAAAAD8w/DJV4LsBZHyM/s1600/m7129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PQ3FKwNzr2A/Vgjg33_XUtI/AAAAAAAAD8w/DJV4LsBZHyM/s400/m7129.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Harry Potter Tree - for Halloween & Fall. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I finally put up the Harry Potter tree. I know I have talked about it before in the past and now its up.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Our son had been a fan of the Harry Potter books since the very first one came out. Then as the years went by HP products came out. I saved lots of stuff and many many shopping trips collecting ornaments. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In the first HP movie there's a scene where in the great hall it shows floating candles and pumpkins for their Halloween feast. SO I have added pumpkins to the tree. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xBvLkeviwRU/Vgjg7EWR5qI/AAAAAAAAD84/DsHG2ZJFyHk/s1600/m7130.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xBvLkeviwRU/Vgjg7EWR5qI/AAAAAAAAD84/DsHG2ZJFyHk/s400/m7130.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
There's Harry's trunk that I filled with large jewels (remember the houses were tallied with jewels), Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Hedwig, Hogwarts Castle that plays the movies theme song, sleds that were in the film used for students in the Winter time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nTr_DabZrXI/Vgjg9tx7oaI/AAAAAAAAD9A/o_1EqS3Y5p4/s1600/m7131.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nTr_DabZrXI/Vgjg9tx7oaI/AAAAAAAAD9A/o_1EqS3Y5p4/s400/m7131.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
No matter where you look at the tree there are lots of different ornaments to see.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4ErQoOCR-K8/VgjhBayUU0I/AAAAAAAAD9I/gvIkUbBM4_o/s1600/m7132.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4ErQoOCR-K8/VgjhBayUU0I/AAAAAAAAD9I/gvIkUbBM4_o/s400/m7132.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love Harry with his Chocolate Frogs! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ddX8aKcNGIA/VgjhEsqlPAI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/T6HFyfyFw-E/s1600/m7133.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ddX8aKcNGIA/VgjhEsqlPAI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/T6HFyfyFw-E/s640/m7133.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you see Ron and Hermoine?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vZF4Vjz5uFs/VgjhG3Q06dI/AAAAAAAAD9Y/XsnFSCltB6c/s1600/m7134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vZF4Vjz5uFs/VgjhG3Q06dI/AAAAAAAAD9Y/XsnFSCltB6c/s640/m7134.jpg" width="425" /></a></div>
There's also Harry flying on his Nimbus 2000 broom, Gringott's bank, the Mirror of Erased, Harry and his invisible cloak and candles that flicker on and off. At night the tree is really beautiful all lit up.<br />
<br />
I have a new stitching project that I will be starting tomorrow for our sweet friend <b><i><a href="http://www.talesofastitchingmouse.blogspot.com/">Mouse</a></i></b>. She will be making a Memory Quilt and asked if anyone would like to stitch a block for her. I said YES right away. So off to study some charts. If you would like to learn more of her project you can read it on her post <b><a href="http://www.talesofastitchingmouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/lions-and-tigers-and-stitching-oh-my.html">HERE</a></b>.<br />
Thank you for stopping by!<br />

Our weather was very hot since last week and over the weekend. Today we had a bit of rain but our windows and door has been open the whole time - humid! Have been praying for all the people who lost their homes and for the firefighters. I was told by my aunt that my cousins godfather lost his home in the fire. He and his family lived right there in Cobb. Just horrible. He, his wife and their dog had just gotten in their truck and drove away & in his review mirror saw his 2 propane tanks explode along with their home. They had just barely made it out. The fire is still not all contained. Asking for your prayers please!<br />
<br />
Well this post is inspired by our friend <i>Vickie</i>! <i>Vickie </i>surprised me with a card and darling envelope letter fob. I LOVE it! I have it on my planner where I get to see it all the time:)<br />

Progress on Sojourner - Finished several more bands.<br />
- The Chinese band is in recognition of the thousands of Chinese who traveled East across the Pacific Ocean to find their fortune in California Gold. This Chinese band was charted all in red motifs and black accents. I made a few of the motifs to gold.<br />
- Between the Chinese and Russian band is a dividing band all done in Montenegrin stitches - Chester's Blue Classic Colorworks silk.<br />
- The Russian band (with the birds) - is a band commonly found in Russian folk art garments. I alternated two blue threads for the motifs in this band, Presidential Blue Sampler threads GA & Pacific Blue by Gloriana silk.<br />
- another dividing band under the Russian band is done in Montenegrin stitches - Chester's Blue Classic Colorworks silk.<br />
<br />
Well that's it for now. Hope our weather gets cooler. Right now they really need rain where there are fighting fires. I'm ready for Fall! I have noticed that it's getting darker much earlier now.<br />

I'm here! At first I thought it was only 2 weeks ago since I posted. Had a look at my blog and was so surprised. August has been a HOT, cold, HOT temps for us. But I am taking advantage and have been enjoying the last of Summer. Well our temps are still high time will tell.I have taken advantage of doing outside yard work when it wasn't triple digits. Lots got done. Always more to do.<br />
<br />
So sad that Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly magazine has ceased publication with their latest issue. I have a subscription and have just received the latest Fall issue. Have no idea what will happen with prepaid issues I have left on my subscription with them. Will learn soon enough.<br />
<br />
So what have I been doing & stitching? I actually finished stitching a beautiful piece& completed it. As it's a gift will get back to you to share with you in November with this.<br />
On a stitching note - I worked on Sojourner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wsrz8xMH7Ro/VeTWTV3ua-I/AAAAAAAADlQ/A9AaaBzGlNw/s1600/m7102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wsrz8xMH7Ro/VeTWTV3ua-I/AAAAAAAADlQ/A9AaaBzGlNw/s400/m7102.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Strawberry band - the strawberries and leaves are all done in Queens Stitch. I will work on the them little by little but I wanted to stitch other parts of the sampler.<br />
I completed 4 more bands. Two black & white bands separate the larger motif bands.<br />
The pansy band is done in backstitch & reflects Great Britain, Irish, English, Welsh and Scottish peoples who came to America seeking a new life. The floral rope reflects the nautical history of San Francisco as a major sea port.<br />

Everything on this table was a grand price of $9.86. WOW Talk about a great find. Dollar General had their seeds 90% off. Now let me back up here a moment. Back in February or some time around there I went looking for seeds to plant. Everything was high. I had found one box of seeds for almost $9 and didn't make shopping for seeds fun. I had no idea that Dollar General store even had seeds priced at 2 for $1 and 4 for $1. If I had I would have stocked up on them. My son had learned of this sale on Facebook a group called "The Rusted Garden: All about Vegetables". So off I went. You might want to check out your store to see if they still have seeds. If they do I bet they are still on clearance.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SXaevbmd6SI/VeTWmRJXGFI/AAAAAAAADlo/vBvTGxsVe1g/s1600/m7094.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SXaevbmd6SI/VeTWmRJXGFI/AAAAAAAADlo/vBvTGxsVe1g/s400/m7094.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Packets of seeds were .02 cents and .05 cents each. What a deal!!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bLwrazq9pB4/VeTWsreDEwI/AAAAAAAADlw/q_dyP2OBldk/s1600/m7090.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bLwrazq9pB4/VeTWsreDEwI/AAAAAAAADlw/q_dyP2OBldk/s400/m7090.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We had planted some green beans & tomatoes earlier around April or May. All didn't make it due to the heat we've had. Plus what was planted was not from seeds they were plants. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L6DIhiejiNs/VeTXAPwrr0I/AAAAAAAADmA/LyQgLKOPiKw/s1600/m7096.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L6DIhiejiNs/VeTXAPwrr0I/AAAAAAAADmA/LyQgLKOPiKw/s400/m7096.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Those boxed seeds - .20cents, the pots that you plant into the ground .15 cents each which have 8 pots in one stack, tray of tomatoes - .30cents and the herb tray with 3 different herbs - .60 cents.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3tVRIxWT048/VeTXJm0yrAI/AAAAAAAADmI/621RAm1dhh4/s1600/m7099.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3tVRIxWT048/VeTXJm0yrAI/AAAAAAAADmI/621RAm1dhh4/s400/m7099.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Nicholas has grouped his packets and placed them in a freezer bag so they are air tight. He learned they will keep till he's ready to plant. This is all his gig- LOL! Hopefully something will grow.<br />
Thank you for stopping by and I am looking forward to decorating for Fall. Just need the heat waves to leave. We had a very hot day here - 106 and will be hotter tomorrow. Hope your nice and cool.<br />
I've been stitching and made a few items with my sewing machine.<br />
I had seen on The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery's web site - they had a very cute Christmas clear vinyl pouch that sold out very fast. After seeing on Instagram many people were signing up and had received their kits for their latest SAL Mystery pattern "A Very Merry Christmas Town". I couldn't resist and signed up the day before it was released. I decided to make my own clear vinyl pouch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6JjBN5jb7_U/VbhxBWALjSI/AAAAAAAADj8/2YVR0OpnO94/s1600/m7066.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6JjBN5jb7_U/VbhxBWALjSI/AAAAAAAADj8/2YVR0OpnO94/s400/m7066.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Working with clear vinyl is new for me. I absolutely love the pouch I made. So nice to be able to see what's exactly inside. This is a fun SAL.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8-0B2YDrfV8/VbhxFXG4QJI/AAAAAAAADkE/gRyXdjl1XWg/s1600/m7067.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8-0B2YDrfV8/VbhxFXG4QJI/AAAAAAAADkE/gRyXdjl1XWg/s400/m7067.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Next I went ahead and made a Qsnap cover. The fabric is by Michael Miller called Pepperment Dot. I think the print and colors are so cute & fun. I've been enjoying using them. If you would like to make a Qsnap cover I followed Abbie's tutorial - the link is <a href="http://www.abbiessewingandstuff.com/2013/07/tutorial-qsnap-cover-aka-grime-guard.html">HERE</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For the mystery sal this is Clue 1 and I finished it today. I had all the supplies except for a few DMC threads. Hard to see in the photo but the fabric is 14ct Stardust Silver, DMC theads and the variegated green thread is "Dark Pine" by Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe and for the variegated red - "Buckeye Scarlet" by The Gentle Art Sampler Threads. For the gold metallic thread - DMC Diamant D3852 (after having this in my stash I finally I get to use it).<br />

I stitched up a few ornaments from JCS August 2015 issue with their Christmas ornament preview. This design is like Cathy's line of chalkboard patterns that she has out. The candy striped fabric I will be using somehow when I make this up, also I have a board that I had picked up from Michael's. This was another fun chart to stitch.<br />
<br />

And I did get some queen stitches in Sojourner, not many but did make some progress.<br />
Thank you for your visit. With my love and appreciation - Annette<br />

Learned of a darling tutorial to make this "Goody Goody Binding Kit". What caught my eye on this project was several helpful features it contains - a zipper pocket to hold Wonder Clips or binding clips, a cute holder for one or two spools of thread, and a pocket for goodies! And that cute strawberry scissor pouch. I just had to try and make one.<br />
I know for just about all my cross stitch projects especially making ornaments I use sewing thread. And I am so tired of poking myself with pins while sewing closed seams. I decided that for my treat to myself, once I made this, I would get some of those binding clips and goodies:))) I went to Joann's today and they had the binding clips on sale 40% off and there's a coupon for additional 25% off entire purchase (sale & regular priced items) for the next few days. I think I will get lots of use with this kit for the finishing of my cross stitch projects.<br />
The tutorial is <b><a href="http://lellaboutique.blogspot.com/2015/07/goody-goody-binding-kit.html#more">HERE</a></b> by Vanessa of Lella Boutique blog.<br />

I started on stitching the strawberry band on Sojourner. The strawberries are all done in Queenstitches.<br />
It's super slow progress for me stitching these 2 over 4 on 40ct. I did try stitching with one thread but didn't like the look. So I am sticking with 2 threads over 4 as called for. I think I will change the thread color on the leaves because its so dark green that its too dark. I haven't made up my mind yet. Will test a few other colors.<br />

Right after 4th of July we were having some cooler weather and I took advantage of it by making another project. Sharing with you today I have a finished project and at the end of this post I have an update on my progress of "Sojourner"!<br />
I had gone on a hunt for a particular piece of fabric and in the drawer I was looking in came across a project that I had all the pieces traced & cut out. This was from 2011 right when I picked up my needle after a dry spell of over 10 to 15 years. I didn't decide to cross stitch at the time but got into embroidery.<br />
Crab apple Hill was a new vendor to me and Meg Hawkey has tons of beautiful patterns that incorporate embroidery but also finishing them with sewing & quilting. This project appealed to me because of the soft colors of Spring and the finishing was all hand sewn.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UMbPzpwUCOY/VaNtIsPLIgI/AAAAAAAADho/Zw3D0OnmSv8/s1600/m7056.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UMbPzpwUCOY/VaNtIsPLIgI/AAAAAAAADho/Zw3D0OnmSv8/s400/m7056.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
This whole project is made of wool felt. At the time I was only aware of felt squares that are available in craft stores. I was soon educated on wool felt. The quilt shop that I had bought my wools from in now out of business. They had a great selection of the wool felts all on bolts. The tiny hearts are individually cut out and then stitched to attach to the cover. The oval pearls I found in my moms stash (now mine). These beads she had left over from when she hand beaded my wedding gown.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HdktFWrZ5sg/VaNtLhVGLqI/AAAAAAAADhw/aKqJowbJ2XY/s1600/m7042.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HdktFWrZ5sg/VaNtLhVGLqI/AAAAAAAADhw/aKqJowbJ2XY/s400/m7042.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>

Hello beautiful friends! 4th of July is special because not only for celebrating Independence day here in the USA but also because its my sister's and Nannie's birthday. This was the first 4th of July not being with Nannie - ooooh how we miss her, we said a prayer for her that day. It was a day of remembrance, tears, and laughter all in one day. My son took it upon him self to organize a craft of making rockets. I placed them in a vintage Fenton vase that was gifted to us long ago from Nannie. We did have a make the best of it as we could. Didn't really see the fireworks but we should did hear them - no one wanted to go for a drive to watch them. Hope you got to see fireworks and had a good 4th of July.<br />
I do have some stitching to share with you.<br />

The weather has been very hot but today we had a nice cool day. More hot days all this coming week.<br />
Thought I would share with you my new start - "Sojourner" sampler designed by Theresa Baird of Heart Ease Examplar Workes. This sampler was designed for the Bay Area Sampler Guild. So all of it's elements are dedicated to California the Bay Area.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fs_adARdADw/VY-q6NSk2wI/AAAAAAAADfc/JJgKhVc7agg/s1600/m6981.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fs_adARdADw/VY-q6NSk2wI/AAAAAAAADfc/JJgKhVc7agg/s400/m6981.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_8lX00qtJvU/VY-q8NMMGNI/AAAAAAAADfg/n1t9-gCDjPI/s1600/m6982.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_8lX00qtJvU/VY-q8NMMGNI/AAAAAAAADfg/n1t9-gCDjPI/s400/m6982.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sojourner, 40ct Expresso linen by R & R Reproductions</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Threads: DMC, & Classic Colorworks Belle Soie silks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have to mention that the orange flower in the sampler are California Poppy's. The suggested color is Buttercup - yellow but the only California Poppies that I have ever seen are orange/red. After reading on <a href="http://blacksheepsite.blogspot.com/">Edgar's blog</a> he used Lasagna Belle Soie silk and I ordered it and am going with that. Much better! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you Edgar!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You know how sometimes it's inspiring to read something on another blog? Well I learned from <a href="http://threadinhand.blogspot.com/">Amy's blog </a>about Row by Row patterns. I googled it and turns out it's an National Quilt Shop Hop called "<a href="http://www.rowbyrowexperience.com/">Row by Row Experience 2015</a>". After looking on their website I learned my local quilt shop is participating and thought I would go check it out. Just to Look.....sigh.... I go and walk in the shop and this is the first thing I see...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-syyWWZDMLvE/VY-qw6C3wQI/AAAAAAAADfA/fIaOTDclooY/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-syyWWZDMLvE/VY-qw6C3wQI/AAAAAAAADfA/fIaOTDclooY/s400/1.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I fell in LOVE!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f5cnE3LDagM/VY-qyw8vx6I/AAAAAAAADfI/u2E-YDSx5L0/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f5cnE3LDagM/VY-qyw8vx6I/AAAAAAAADfI/u2E-YDSx5L0/s400/2.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yep I ended up getting the kit and a fabric plate. Turns out each quilt shop that is participating has their own fabric plate and pattern. So I guess some people are visiting shops collecting patterns & fabric plates. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Very FUN!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I came home and started right on making this mini row quilt. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
"Under the Sea", I have it trimmed ready for the binding. </div>

<br />
Making this I used a product called "Steam A Seam" fusible web. It's so cool and easy to use. I cut out all the fish individually, placed them where I wanted them to go and ironed them. EASY!!! Will share again when its all done.<br />

I have a finished project to share with you. I had taken a class taught by the beautiful & talented Ellen Chester 2 years ago. Finally it's completed. I know I didn't share all my stitching progress in the making but I blame it on the heat we've been having! We've had some very hot days and more are coming this week. Triple digits!<br />
I just love how Ellen's charts are so detailed & gives excellent instructions on all specialty stitches and for assembling all the pieces which makes it so easy for completing. Of course getting to take a class with Ellen she teaches & explains everything in person was the icing on the cake.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7y3iHjd0Nr8/VYmkDi_lZjI/AAAAAAAADdw/ApnxVymryyE/s1600/m6974.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7y3iHjd0Nr8/VYmkDi_lZjI/AAAAAAAADdw/ApnxVymryyE/s400/m6974.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
For those of you who are not familiar with this project designed by Ellen, this was a class through "Bay Area Sampler Guild". Ellen had the beautiful painted wood box handcrafted specially for this project. All the needlework is stitched with silk threads. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jHVTeYCxtO0/VYmkJbFd66I/AAAAAAAADd4/dNcTOroiGzE/s1600/m6976.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jHVTeYCxtO0/VYmkJbFd66I/AAAAAAAADd4/dNcTOroiGzE/s400/m6976.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The smalls for the work box include a 3 sided scissor weight, wooden hornbook thread holder, needlecase (made in Jacob's Ladder style) and a lovely double sided pincushion trimmed with silk ribbon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ELGpQubeYIc/VYmkRblmTXI/AAAAAAAADeA/viP1xYZpvf4/s1600/m6977.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ELGpQubeYIc/VYmkRblmTXI/AAAAAAAADeA/viP1xYZpvf4/s400/m6977.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bqlwkCbEdVo/VYmkUwL4cBI/AAAAAAAADeQ/poGrW_7Vm_A/s1600/m6980.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bqlwkCbEdVo/VYmkUwL4cBI/AAAAAAAADeQ/poGrW_7Vm_A/s400/m6980.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The inside of the box is covered in duponi silk with many pockets for storing needlework accessories.<br />
I absolutely love my Lady's Worke Box. Every piece is something very special because of all the specialty stitches that adds so much texture to the look and feel. If you have the opportunity to take a class with Ellen I promise you will not be disappointed!!! Thank you Ellen!<br />
With my appreciation and love - Annette<br />

A lovely surprise</div>
Just today I received an envelope in the mail and the stamp said "Royal Mail". I thought "OOOOH this must be my invite to the Royal Christening of HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge! NOPE! But even better....<br />
This sweet chart is from Jo of <a href="http://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com/">Serendipitous Stitching blog</a>. I was one of the lucky winners of Jo's 4th Blogaversary draw! And Jo lives in England. How cool is that? I am so excited to get started on this darling chart. I like that is has an angel, hearts, deer, trees and an alphabet. Thank you ever so much Jo!!!<br />

Needlepoint - stitched by my mom Franciene (many years ago)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another lovely unexpected surprise</div>
This is a really cool story I want to share with you.... Kim had shared on one of her posts <a href="http://wisdomwithneedleandthread.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2015-05-05T10:57:00-05:00&max-results=7">HERE</a> (Wisdom with Needle and Thread blog) about a series of tapestries that she is stitching. These are done in needlepoint. When I had read her post & saw the photo - I thought "How beautiful I love it" & then I thought "Oh I think my mom had needlepointed one of these". I went on a hunt in the house right then and there. I FOUND IT!!! Yes she did and that's the photo above that I shared with you. Now I don't recall ever getting to see my mom stitch this. I had moved away and was in college. It's completed but horribly mis-shaped pulling all in one angle & needs blocking before it can be framed. But I have it happened to be the same design that Kim had shared and posted about. Can you believe it? I was thrilled to learn the name of the tapestry and the history of it.<br />
Thank you Thank you Thank you sweet Kim!!!!<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
This is a class that I took& was taught by the wonderful Ellen Chester over a year ago. This is a beautiful collection stitching necessities that will be housed in a gorgeous hand crafted wooden box. The piece I am stitching above is the front outside panel that will be attached to the box once done. I will share photos of the box when I complete this. I have already finished the needle book and made all the duponi silk covered inside panels. I completed the grass and now working on the fence & steps. In this design there will be a house & trees and another floral on the right side.</div>

It's been some very warm weather here in Northern California. Our temps have been in the 90's. I have two finishes to share with you today. Both projects are from Debbie's Challenge that I started in the beginning of January - of my 15 new starts. I now have completed 7 of 15 projects. YES!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EDRYgJhbCgI/VUCE9H-b0_I/AAAAAAAADZE/HjqRYkqrSQo/s1600/m6580.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EDRYgJhbCgI/VUCE9H-b0_I/AAAAAAAADZE/HjqRYkqrSQo/s1600/m6580.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
Do you remember this? This houses the panels I stitched. I just love pretty tins and have a small collection. This is my only pink one!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eif3Z2GaYgU/VUCFDZjDrVI/AAAAAAAADZM/DA7dadPwpVs/s1600/m6889.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eif3Z2GaYgU/VUCFDZjDrVI/AAAAAAAADZM/DA7dadPwpVs/s1600/m6889.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"My First Sewing Box & Scissor Fob" by The Stitching Parlor</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
30ct Woodlawn Linen </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Threads: DMC and Classic Colorworks</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the inside of the tin.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s-h4yPYv3sg/VUCFGbW7UYI/AAAAAAAADZU/MfjA7FgBwAU/s1600/m6888.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s-h4yPYv3sg/VUCFGbW7UYI/AAAAAAAADZU/MfjA7FgBwAU/s1600/m6888.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
I added tiny buttons in the top corners of the felt that holds needles. I have to tell you that I had the linen and used a piece for another ornament "Running Bunnies" by Just Nan back when and didn't think I would have enough linen left for both panels for this project. But I did. Very tight squeeze while stitching -LOL! It worked! Ooops I noticed that I forgot to stitch the scissor fob! I've added it on my list of to do's.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

"Needlewoman - busy as a Bee" by The Primitive Hare</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
30ct Old Salem Linen </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
DMC Threads</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is a fold over pouch or pocket. I made some changes. I added firm Pellon (#809) to one of the fabrics so the pouch would hold up strong and not be flimsy. This was gifted to me from our friend Shirlee. I love how it turned out. I didn't add a closure on the bottom of the flap because I think the depth of the inside pocket is very deep and the outside over flap in nice and long. Hope this makes sense. But it works beautifully. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The fabric colors look rich in person. Pretty bee fabric. Thank you <a href="http://farmhouseponderings.blogspot.com/">Shirlee</a>! I enjoyed making this.</div>
